Healing tour, a Mumford and Sons bass guitar and an embroidered shawl pre- sented to Elvis Presley by his Philly Fan Club in 1977 just a few months before his death.

Clothing donned by artists born in the Delaware Valley is showcased in style. It includes Wynnewood-born Joan Jett’s jumpsuit, an outfit worn by Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopez on her Waterfalls video, one of Billy Paul’s sequined jack- ets, and a floral dress from the exten- sive wardrobe of Patti LaBelle. Two hutches in the back bar, found in Lancaster County, were repurposed to serve as liquor cabinets.

Opened in 1998, Hard Rock Café is a focal point in the Reading Terminal train station headhouse. Its architecture is similar to that of the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s grand ballroom. From corporate meetings to team

building events, fund raisers to social parties, Hard Rock Café is singular. Its Philadelphia café offers private event space for up to 200 guests. It can easily accommodate 600 people for a large gathering held across the entire venue.

Passersby or those coming to an event at Hard Rock Café almost always stop in their tracks to stare in awe at the 60- foot spinning guitar that graces its façade. “You can’t imagine the traffic this guitar magnetizes,” exclaims Bundick. “This is the only Hard Rock Café with such an entry attraction. All day, every day, people pose for photos in front of the spinning guitar!”

Bundick points to another Hard Rock Café attraction for event planners. “When swag bags are on the agenda, we have great contents. Companies can co-brand our retail products with their logos. We offer hats, t-shirts, etched

glasses and more. These are one-of-a- kind mementos.”

Many groups frequently repeat book Hard Rock Café. The Leukemia Lymphoma Society announces its Man and Woman of Year here every spring, while Hispanic Business Alliance net- works at the restaurant each month. “Hard Rock Café is the sweet part of the city,” sums up Bundick.

Cool takes on a whole new meaning when the venue is a cruise ship, such as Spirit of Philadelphia or Freedom Elite. The Spirit of Philadelphia hosts parties and events for two to 500 guests. An exquisite private yacht, Freedom Elite accommodates 40 to 70 people for sit-down dinners and up to 110 for receptions. Guests dine, dance, enjoy spectacular views while lavish- ing in the luxury of being out on open water.

Hard Rock Café has launched a new charitable foundation to benefit Chester A. Arthur School. The elementary school is devoted to maximizing student potential and numerous areas of learning and development. “We hope to grow with the school,” says Dawn Bundick, senior sales and market- ing manager. “Our goal as Friends of Chester A. Arthur School, is to provide funds for music programs. When schools are forced to cut back, the first programs to go are in the arts. We want to prevent that from ever happening at this wonderful school. This is a perfect partner for a music venue.”
