Prior to the summer the market was buoyant, and then came the Brexit vote and along with it a great deal of uncertainty, particularly amongst our British clients. This, without doubt suppressed the market in the short-term. However recently things have picked up and September has been a great month for us. Reassurances from both the Spanish and British governments in terms of safeguarding the rights of ex-pats access to free health care, pensions etc in a post-Brexit Europe has definitely helped, but I think people simply refuse to give up on their dream of living here and taking advantage of the wonderful lifestyle that Spain continues to offer. And I must say that we also deal with clients from all over Europe who are unaffected by Brexit, so there’s no shortage of buyers out there.”
