Female Focus FORTHCOMING EVENTS IN AID OF THE EMAÚS CHILDREN
The aim of the Association Friends of the Children of EMAÚS, is to help as much as possible to improve the lives of the children of EMAÚS. The EMAÚS Association is unique in that it is the only association in the Province of Alicante that looks after children who have to be taken into care.
Friend's of the Children of EMAÚS, which was established over ten years ago, has worked tirelessly to improve the children's lives. For example we spent nearly 4,000 euros this year on summer camps and activities. It is so important to give the children who have no families to visit, something to look forward to during the summer. In September it was time to buy school materials. Now we are looking towards buying sports clothes and Christmas presents. We must take this opportunity to thank all the associations and individuals that are collaborating with us to help us do our work. EMAÚS has nearly 100 children in its care and their homes are scattered along the Costa Blanca. The children are aged from newly born to 18 years old. The aim of EMAÚS is to bring the children up in as normal a family atmosphere as possible without their parents. This is realised due to the amazing efforts of the tireless team of Social Workers who look after the children. We hold a series of events during the year to raise funds for our Association.
Don't miss the Early Bird Christmas Gift Fair which takes place 30th October at Salones Carrasco, Javea. Oodles of Christmas gifts and lots of time to parcel them up and send them to your loved ones! Santa Claus will be there from 11am to 5pm to kick off your Christmas cheer! He will be at the same venue on 20th November where, again, there will be loads of stalls to help you with your Christmas gift choices.
The ultimate “Christmas Gift Fair” in aid of the Children of Emaús is moving from its venue of the past five years (Denia Marriott!) to the Centro Ecuestre Oliva Nova on 26th and 27th November. This is going to be a great two day event with gifts galore - so don't miss it - See advert on page 5.
Carrasco stalls had all been snapped up but some changes in layout might mean half-dozen more stalls are available. If you were turned down previously, please contact Lesley Clark on
lesleyclarkjavea@gmail.com as soon as possible. There is now limited space available at the Centro Ecuestre but it’s still worth asking.
On 3rd November the Footlights will perform “Variety Showcase” in aid of our Association and Sounds Familiar will perform “A Christmas Carol” on 30th November and 1st December. All performances take place in the Casa de la Cultura, Calpe.
Female Focus Publications has also very kindly donated a TV which will be raffled during our events over the next few months, and tickets can be bought at the Dia i Nit 24 hour shop on Calle Malaga, Calpe.
