New Defibrillator machine saves a life
Everyone at the Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea (AAEdJ) would like to give a huge ‘Thank You’ to members of The Sprig of Acacia Lodge together with The Masonic Home of Valencia Association, who have jointly donated a new defibrillator machine. The AAEdJ runs a vital private Ambulance Service covering almost all of the Costa Blanca North, and prides itself on having properly equipped ambulances which are very akin to being mobile Intensive Care Units.
However, providing just the basic ambulance vehicles themselves is enough of a financial challenge... kitting out the ambulances with the necessary state-of-the- art equipment costs many thousands of Euros more. Which is why the AAEdJ is so very grateful for the donation of this latest defibrillator machine, having received the machine at a presentation in the Costa Nova Masonic Centre with several senior Masons present, including R.W. Bro Ian Inglis, and W. Bro’s Bill Russell, Bernard Phillips, and Bernard Wilson. The photograph shows the machine being handed over to the AAEdJ at the end of July.
Just a few days later on 9th August the new defibrillator machine proved invaluable at a car crash involving a 60 year old foreign national, who suffered a heart attack whilst at the wheel of his car. Having veered across the road and smashed into a tree, ambulances attended, the defibrillator machine was used, and after giving treatment to the driver for about 45 minutes, he was deemed fit enough to be transported to hospital.
Female Focus spoke with R.W. Bro Ian Inglis from The Sprig of Acacia Lodge who told us “It is the continuing desire of Freemasons to aid such charities in the area, and we are always very pleased to give support, particularly to those charities to do with saving lives, which is so vitally important”.
The Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea (AAEdJ) is a Private Ambulance Service available 24/7 all 365 days of the year, covering almost all of Costa Blanca North. The ambulances from AAEdJ are fully equipped and give the best chance of rapid attention. Wherever an AAEdJ member is taken ill, whether it is at home or elsewhere, an AAEdJ ambulance will rush to you, give emergency assistance and then speed you to the most appropriate hospital for your condition.
The cost of this service is JUST €50 for the WHOLE YEAR for the WHOLE FAMILY with every family member receiving a bespoke quality, strong, credit card type membership card to keep in their purse or wallet, so that if any emergency happens while you are away from your home, those around you will know the number to call.
