Going Out - Page 52 Guilty Party Games

Are you looking for a different type of Christmas present to give to someone, or want to host a Christmas party with a difference? Murder/ mystery dinner party games are a great way to spend an evening with friends as you try and solve the mystery.

The range of games from Guilty Party Games are designed to last between 2 and 3 hours when played with a three-course meal. Each guest has a character and are both detective and suspect. Everyone is provided with their background and other information as well as some suggested questions to ask each other to help get

you started. As each round is played more information is uncovered until the end of the evening when you accuse who you think committed the crime. The truth is then revealed!

Each game has a different setting such as a medieval castle, village hall, movie set, hotel, cruise yacht and many others so you can choose a scenario that appeals to you. Many people turn up dressed as their characters in the game and turn the evening into a fancy dress dinner party.

"Dinner Theatre Mysteries" are also popular where Guilty Party Games will come along with a small group of actors to perform a mystery for you and your guests, while you have dinner. These are ideal for social clubs, fundraisers or as an alternative to a dinner dance.

Guilty Party Games are also looking for willing volunteers to join the existing band of testers who play each game and provide feedback before the game is released. The games are tested in the Jalon area, so if you are interested in being added to the list of testers, please get in touch through their website www.guiltypartygames.com.

The exploration of the Moon

The Costa Blanca Astronomical society are pleased to invite everyone to a public talk to be given by Dr. Katherine Joy of Manchester University.

Katherine will be visiting Denia especially to give a talk at the Sala de Actas (First Floor), the Casa De Cultura, Denia on Saturday October 22nd starting at 7pm. Katherine specialises in studying the moon, so her talk is entitled "The Exploration of the Moon".

Katherine gained her PhD in Planetary sciences at the University college London, specialising in the study of lunar evolution. She later joined a NASA team studying the bombardment history

of the moon by examining the lunar surface.

Katherine is currently a senior lecturer at Manchester University school of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental sciences and was also a member of a team that visited Antarctica searching for meteorites.

In her talk she will give us some insight into how scientific research into the moon is done and what specifically we have learnt from studying the samples brought back by the lunar missions. She will provide interesting perspectives from someone so closely involved in the scientific projects that studied lunar material.

We are very pleased that she has agreed to join us here in Denia and hope that many of you will come along to what should be an interesting event. All are welcome. If you have any questions, you can contact the secretary of the Costa Blanca Astronomical society on 671 152 686.
