Message from the Publisher I got BRIAN WARREN hitched! Another summer has come and gone and I didn’t do half the things I started out
to do. In spite of that, it was a great summer. We spent a lot of time in Calabogie, hanging out at a lake, working on my casting skills (had long term boat problems) and tried to perfect my skills on my smoker. Reality set in the first of August, and I got to work on this great issue of Bounder. When you receive this issue, or read it online, I will be
married. Yep, tied the knot September 14th in a small ceremony at Cabotto’s. After 11 years of being together, we felt that it was time to make it official. We plan to get away after this issue hits the streets and head south and play a little golf. As usual, we have most of our feature writers in this
issue, and a couple of new ones. It’s getting harder to decide what to put in as we seem to get more and more suggestions for story lines. The best part is that we already have some of the editorial lined up for the winter music edition that is out early
December. It was great connecting with many of
you, our readers, at many of the outdoor events that we attended. The event trailer and the new stage made it out for quite a few weekend events. Kemptville Live would have to be the highlight, with almost 13,000 people attending. I’m hoping to get a few more
Correction:
In a previous article by Doug Pollard, Passing the Rod (Summer 2016), Pete Stephenson’s WWII service was referred to as the Merchant Navy. In fact, Pete served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve escorting the Merchant Navy in treacherous Atlantic crossings. The author regrets any misunderstanding caused to Pete and his fellow veterans.

the Ultimate Man Show in November. It will be great meeting some of the guys from Counting Cars (Count’s Kustoms.)
