white sturgeon, which, in Canada, inhabit only the Fraser and Columbia River systems. Our other species, lake sturgeon, ranges from Alberta to
Quebec (a third, the green sturgeon, is essentially a saltwater dweller.) We soon have our first fish, a
youngster just over three feet long.
The tag is read, and back it goes. Then another, and another. We get a double header, followed by a triple
