In Osgoode, 29 teams were present and the team of Wilson/Popplewell placed first with a total weight of 17.63 lbs. The weight would have been higher, but on this extremely hot day one fish didn’t survive and the team was penalized a half pound. Even though the team of Sinnet and Haley was missing a member, and had to fish as a single person team, member Sinnet did very well placing 2nd

with a total weight of 14.67 lbs.

The team of Lapensee and Brine caught the big fish of the day, a 4.93 lb. largemouth bass. Congratulations to everyone who attended the Rideau River event! Bass tournaments and fishing

events are becoming widespread throughout Eastern Ontario, and some BAA members often participate in the Renegade Bass and Pro-Bass Canada series, as well as other local fishing tournaments, to help hone their skills with increased competition. From what I saw in Osgoode,

there is a lot camaraderie between these teams. As they say on their website, the BAA is a group of anglers that just like getting out to have some fun with a little bit of healthy competition. The organization’s main focus is to combine bass fishing education and fun. In fact, most guys are not afraid to share some of their fishing secrets along the way. For those of you that want to

follow past and future events of Ottawa’s Top Bass Fishing Club, you can find the information on the Bass Anglers Association website at: http://www.bassanglersassociation. ca/
