World Horse Welfare is delighted to announce that the charity raised more than £25,000 in its role as Charity of the Year at the 2016 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.
WHW Chief Executive, Roly Owers, said: “We are delighted to have been Badminton’s 2016 Charity of the Year and the event was a fantastic success in both raising funds and awareness of World Horse Welfare, as well giving us the opportunity to engage with thousands of supporters.
“Our Invisible Horse Trail created such a buzz throughout the event and we are so grateful to all of the artists and sponsors who helped make this possible through their hard work and commitment. Our ‘Rehoming Café’ drawing huge interest from
those looking for a new horse or pony and our main ring displays showing the amazing talents our horses and ponies have to offer.
“We also had extraordinary support from so many of the riders competing at Badminton. The Cross Country Preview Evening organised by the Horse Trials Support Group and supported by Dodson & Horrell, provided a fascinating insight to the course from Zara Tindall, Yogi Breisner, Harry Meade and Ian Stark, whilst Alex Hua Tian, Vittoria Panizzon, Mary and Emily King and many more
all took part in helping to paint our ‘People’s Horse’ sculpture on the trade stand and this will be auctioned later in the year along with the other 14 horse sculptures.
“There are so many people to thank including Hugh Thomas, Jane Tuckwell and the whole team at Badminton and the 250 volunteers who took part in a whole host of tasks. Their enthusiasm and hard work was truly inspiring and I would like to express our sincere thanks to each and every one of them.”

Abbey England has launched its new and improved website providing product information on the company’s extensive lines of buckles, fixings and saddle making materials and tools with an improved facility to purchase all these items online.
Said Peter Phillips of Abbey England: “We want to improve our customers’ online shopping experience by delivering them a fast and easy to use website by making our new site responsive on any device. The

new website has been given a modern finish with clear headings and drop-down menus which should help customers to easily navigate around the website. Furthermore, we hope it will encourage both customers and non-customers to use the website more often, as a reference point and as point-of- sale.”
The company recognised that the last website did not show stocks levels, nor did it calculate carriage - both contentious
issues amongst customers - and this has been rectified and both stock levels and carriage costs are now shown.
The website also includes a regular blog section to keep customers up to date with all the latest Abbey England news, plus an image gallery and facility to download the latest Abbey England and Ridingbitz catalogues.

The pilot programme will see international dressage rider Henry Boswell joining the presenters along with guest rider Judy Craymer, the creative brain and producer of the global smash hit musical and biggest musical film ever… Mamma Mia! Maria Clayton, Head of Communications at British Showjumping commented “We felt there was a gap in the market for a programme that would bring equestrianism to a wider audience in an informative yet fun-filled way. The enthusiasm and backing of the project right from the start has been overwhelming and I speak on behalf of everyone involved in the programmes production when I say we hope viewers have as much fun watching it as we did making it.”
Once broadcast and feedback received a decision will be made as to whether an initial season of up to six programmes will be produced.
The Pilot will broadcast at 7pm on Tuesday 12th July 2016 at
