STEP THREE: Breakthrough Goals for
the Business At this point, you have completed a thorough analysis of all aspects of your business. You likely are seeing a few primary overall company objectives arise that cover two or more of the key categories. You may also be thinking of one or two key goals that, once achieved, would represent a quantum leap for your business. Tese objectives represent your business’ breakthrough goals for the year. Document the top three to five
breakthrough goals for your organization and detail how you will measure the achievement of each of these goals. Place this list at the very front of your plan, highlighted or in big bold print.
STEP FOUR Ongoing Plan Review
Don’t stop here! Once you have your plan established, put dates on your calendar to review it on at least a quarterly basis. During each plan review, determine:
• Has your vision for your business changed? • Have the identified action steps been taken in a timely manner? If not, why not?
• What “out-of-the-blue” opportunities arose? • What roadblocks have been encountered in the implementation?
• How are stakeholders (you, clients, employees) reacting to the changes?
• What new inspirations have come to you? Adjust your plan as needed given your
responses to these questions. Tis plan should be a fluid document changing as the year proceeds. Congratulations on your desire to streamline your work in 2016!
