A wider point of view of Dartmouth.
www.dartmouthphotographs.com is not just another website with great images of Dartmouth but offers a view that is a bit different. It’s a new website and personal picture service set up by keen local photographer Martin Thomas. As he explains, “I have been a photographer for a number of years and set up the site to get my images seen. I specialise in panoramic photography creating images that provide a bigger picture of the many views of Dartmouth. Creating panoramics are tricky and time consuming but allow you to cover a large area. To keep this down to one picture results in a long picture with a gap top and bottom, a bit like letterboxing with films. The other way of displaying a panoramic is to split it over two or three pictures/canvases and hang them side by side with a gap in between. This gives a superb designer effect and also, because it fills more of the picture, more detail. “
You can order his views from the website - you can even
crop it to your liking! If you know of a particular view, or have a view yourself that you would like Martin to capture then he can offer you a very special and bespoke service. Dartmouth has been photographed in many a different way but Martin’s photographs offer something that is both unique and captivating. His Facebook page (/dartmouthphotographs) is updated with images that are often not on the site but still available to buy online. You can order poster prints, framed images or aluminium mounted prints and canvases. Prices vary depending on aspect, but a standard 3:2 costs from approx £70 for a 30x20cm image to £150 for 75x50cm. Martin says, “proceeds are put towards the cost of the equipment... You don’t want to know how much top notch cameras and lenses are!”. For more information visit
