MALCOLM CLUBB
Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy, Edinburgh Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy engaged the services of Malcolm Clubb some years ago, as a long term locum. Having built up an excellent working relationship with him during his time working within the NHS and with CPS they were well aware of his history of involvement with and commitment to Chronic Mediction Services, his extensive knowledge and his infectious enthusiasm. Having seen the results Malcolm was capable of delivering in a branch in a short space of time he was identified as being the perfect person to help the company drive CMS further forward. Over the last year Malcolm has been deployed to a number of branches to identify opportunities for and barriers to CMS. Malcolm is not only an outstanding clinical pharmacist but he possesses enviable communication and people skills – both in terms of his dealings with staff and patients.
ALASDAIR SHEARER
Davidsons Chemist, Milnathort For Davidsons, the advancement of the Chronic Medication Service, and some of the key points in Prescription for Excellence meant that CMS shouldn’t just be about registration figures and preparation for serial prescriptions. They identified the need to develop a focus on pharmaceutical care issues, and, most importantly, quality pharmacist input into patients with long term conditions. In 2014, they appointed Alasdair Shearer as CMS Quality Champion. Alasdair has demonstrated a keen focus on CMS, through his roles on the health board’s CMS implementation group and the PCR user groups. By increasing the pharmaceutical care input that their pharmacists give to their patients, Davidsons have had a very positive response from patients who enjoy having the pharmacist take time to speak them about their conditions.
