gang were turning up for each of the events which meant there was a great camaraderie among the runners. James and I got great support throughout the week. “The support from the running commu- nity - both here in Liverpool and around the county - has been one of the things that has kept us going. “Innumnerable people have told me what an inspirational figure James is, a role model in the way that he has overcome so many dif- ficulties to make it to the finish line.” And that has been James and Sylvia’s re-
ward for their steadfast support of a severely disadvantaged teenager. Last word with John: “James gets real pleasure from running - he seems to enjoy it more the tougher it gets - and the great beaming smile he produces when we finish a race is just incredible.”
