THIS SUMMER again proved that the Tour Of Merseyside is one of the most innovative and well received events on the Northern running circuit. After being introduced to the BTR Liverpool portfolio in 2013, the six race, seven day test has been specially designed to challenge runners and give a whirlwind tour of Merseyside.
After making a real splash during its introductory event in 2013, this year’s Tour
more than doubled in size. Unsurprisingly, the 2015 event is already sold out, with all 300 allocated places snapped up within three weeks.
Such attraction to the Tour seems to stem from its original format, the blend of terrains, distances and the varied challenges these present. This fosters a sense of respect and camaraderie within each of the competitors, culminating in the last of the 52 miles on the
