Celebrity Spotting
The race celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2014 with around 9,000 getting their starters’ orders from Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers. He’s not the only famous face to make an appearance at the race. Previous participants have included several Hollyoaks actors - James Atherton, Tom Scurr, and Mandip Gill to name a few. Other high pro- file supporters of the event are former Liver- pool footballer and pundit, Jamie Carragher, Olympic silver medallist and TV presenter, Kriss Akabusi, and footballer Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen.

Keep Coming Back
Stephen Symons, who has run the half every year since its inception, has no plans to stop: “I am now the only person to have run in every Liverpool Half Marathon. There are many reasons I return every year but basically because it is a superbly organised race with an excellent atmosphere, before, during and after.”
With a field of around 10,000 ex- pected for the 2015 event, the race con- tinues to expand. Will you be part of it next March? There’s no maybe about it. You defi- nitely should!
