1994 FEATURED A number of successful debuts - Oasis’s Definitely Maybe signalled the birth of Britpop, The Lion King hit our screens (and stole our hearts), and most importantly BTR Liverpool Half Marathon was held for the first time.


Still Going Strong


A lot has changed since then. The Gallagher brothers no longer talk to each other and the Lion King is now better known for spawn- ing an internet joke than for its plot. The Liverpool Half, however, is still going strong. Stronger than ever in fact. The race is today regarded by many as the number one half marathon in the North West and is BTR Liverpool’s flasgship event.


Vital Spark


The 2015 race, takes place on 29 March. It continues to evolve and is now part of the new national Vitality Run Series. The overall series expects to feature over 100,000 par- ticipants in its inaugural year, with the hope of encouraging both experienced and novice runners to create a vibrant community around some of the nation’s best loved running events. It includes eight races and is set to further establish the Liverpool Half Marathon as one of the country’s headline running events.
