The Yachts of Dartmouth & Dartmouth Chandlery teams joined forces earlier this year to offer a one stop service to boat owners on the River Dart. By working together the two companies are dedicated to making the whole of your boating life easier and more enjoyable, delivering the best possible professional service, whether you are using, maintaining, buying or selling a boat. This union has been boosted by consolidating our marine services to one integrated site with a secure yard on the edge of Dartmouth offering full covered and open storage for boats of up to 22ft including ribs and inflatables. You can be sure that your boat is in safe hands. In addition, we can arrange recovery at the end of the season, pressure wash and winterise your boat. Winter maintenance such as engine servicing, antifouling, cleaning and polishing can also be arranged. When you are ready to use your boat again, simply ring when you want to launch and we’ll make sure she is ready for you to use and enjoy. You can rest easy knowing your boat is being looked after. Our comprehensive winter stock includes dehumidifiers, boat heaters, antifreeze, fuel stabilisers and fogging oils. Our rope workers can splice mooring lines, sheets, halyards and control lines to order. Additionally, as Lewmar and Harken agents, we are on hand to give advice on winter projects like winch and deck hardware upgrades. As the Dartmouth/Torbay area agents for Suzuki Marine, we are happy to offer advice and assistance in the buying and servicing of all types of Suzuki outboards. We are a fully approved sales and after-sales centre, able to carry out all aspects of service work including all diagnostic checks in our well-equipped workshop. After a fabulous summer with fantastic boating weather and all the fun at the Regatta, the time has come to start thinking about winter layup and the necessary preventative and cosmetic maintenance to protect your investment, from antifouling and polishing to gel-coat and GRP repairs, as well as osmosis treatment and prevention to name but a few. There are different types of anti-foul for different uses to ensure the best performance. You might also consider using multi-season eco friendly antifouling such as “Copper Coat”. Whatever you use, it’s worth seeking advice from a professional re-finisher.
