This year our whole school healthy start topic is SHANARRI. SHANARRI stands for Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included. All children should have a SHANARRI wheel.
P1/2 have learned about SHANARRI and what it all means for them. They have done lots of art and drawn what each part of the SHANARRI wheel means for them. There is also a big banner going across their classroom which helps them to remember!
P3/4 have learned the whole SHANARRI wheel and what each element means for them. They have also been doing SHANARRI activities like making family tree’s which show how they are nurtured. Most of all they enjoyed making active pictures.
P5/6 have been making presentations about SHANARRI and what it actually means. We all really enjoyed them. The whole school has enjoyed the SHANARRI homework given out. We all had to describe the eight SHANARRI elements and explain what would be in our own SHANARRI wheel at home and we could present it in any way we wanted to.
P7 have had a very SHANARRI packed start! They’ve made French SHANARRI wheels, they worked together as a whole class to create a SHANARRI display and they went above and beyond the call of duty on their homework task. There were videos/phone blogs, diaries and even pizza!
We all realise how lucky we are and how many people there are at school, home and in the community that help us, support us and look after us.
