ENTRIES NOW OPEN G
lasgow Chamber of Commerce and Te Herald have joined forces to appeal for nominations for the Inspiring City Awards 2014.
Working in partnership with Glasgow’s city
brand – PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW – for the second consecutive year, this year’s awards will once again celebrate individuals and businesses who have gone above and beyond to encourage, mentor and support investment and growth in the city. Tere are eleven categories which include:
business; education; arts; culture and sport; with the addition of a landmark Commonwealth Games 2014 award which will focus on legacy and development. An expert judging panel has been selected
to review all entries and the winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner on 11 September. Global Radio's Paul Cooney will host the
2014 awards, following on from a striking address from entrepreneur and philanthropist Tom Hunter, in the inaugural keynote speech. Last year’s awards evening welcomed an
audience of more than 300 business leaders, employees, judges and representatives of sponsors along with guests of the Chamber of Commerce and Te Herald. Richard Muir, Deputy Chief Executive of
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Last year’s awards were incredibly well received with many remarkable individuals, businesses and organisations being commended for their
contributions. We want to build on that this year, a year that will be a truly remarkable one for Glasgow. We are delighted to again partner with Te Herald and the city’s new PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand for this year’s event.” Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow
City Council and the Chair of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, said: “Te Inspiring City Awards, sponsored by Glasgow’s PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW brand, provides the perfect opportunity to reward those truly remarkable individuals, businesses and organisations who consistently go the extra mile to ensure that Glasgow continues to flourish.” For more information or to nominate, visit
