lasgow now has its own TV channel with STV Glasgow taking to the airwaves.


On 2 June, the new channel


began broadcasting to two million people in the west of Scotland on Freeview channel 23. STV Glasgow broadcasts live


from noon until midnight each day from STV’s HQ at Pacific Quay on the south bank of the Clyde. Te channel broadcasts a


magazine programme each day from 6.30pm - 8.30pm called Te Riverside Show, which is presented by Jennifer Reoch, a former Miss Scotland, and David Farrell, previously a Radio Clyde DJ where he went by the name Romeo. Other presenters on Te

name – and reporter Colin Stone who reports from different locations around the city each evening. Te channel also features a


range of news and features, and live and archived programming covering a range of formats and subjects. An original format programme

commited to broadcasting one hour of non-English speaking content per week. Polish drama, Czas Honoru, aired from 4 June, with subtitles.

hugely exciting opportunity to launch a brand new channel for Scotland’s largest city. We want to celebrate everything that’s great about Glasgow and reflect what is happening in this truly unique city each day. “Tere was an overwhelming


sense of enthusiasm about the launch of a brand new TV channel in Glasgow, about Glasgow for the people of Glasgow. “We look forward to bringing


viewers all the latest news, entertainment and features from the city every day.” STV Glasgow broadcasts to two


million viewers in the west of Scotland on Freeview channel 23, Sky channel 117 and Virgin channel 159. Te channel was launched


following the award by Ofcom of licences to STV in January 2013 for channels in Glasgow and Edinburgh. STV Glasgow is delivered in


partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University – both of which are Glasgow Chamber of Commerce members – offering its students the opportunity to work in a live TV environment. Te new channel complements


STV’s current portfolio of locally focused services on air, online and on mobile.
