NEW LEADERS Expanded export support will

be introduced for Chamber members working along with new approaches from British Chambers of Commerce. Communication channels will be further improved with special atentions being made to the Chamber members website and the member database. Other new areas include

examining a new leadership development offering and the launch of the e-trade tester service that will allow e-commerce to be introduced for members or to have existing e-commerce channels benchmarked against the best. In addition to the new

programmes being introduced, members of the Glasgow Chamber team will also complete the expansion of the Platinum Partner and Partner portfolios. Changes made to the events

programme will be consolidated, including a second year of the

Inspiring City Awards and the International Trade event. Glasgow Chamber Projects team

members will continue delivery of the Strategic Agreement with Glasgow City Council, allowing for evolution of the project to respond to changes in the city economy. Te plan states that the

Chamber team is complete and there is no proposal for expansion of core staffing numbers over the next three years. Te aim will be to continue to increase productivity over the three-year period of the plan and any additional support will only be brought in for development of new workstreams.

In order to not clash with the

key event of this year, the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Chamber activity will be minimised in July and early August when the event is on. Te key activity during the

Games will be Glasgow Chamber’s contribution to the Business Embassy events at Scotland House. In addition, the plan envisaged

that Glasgow Chamber will make its contribution to the constitutional debate by seeking the views of members on key questions for the Glasgow economy. Events with each of the campaigns will seek answers to these questions, with a final response being made on the issues.

“Our work over the next three years will

focus on a number of key areas, including expanding Chamber income”

Stuart Patrick, Chief Executive

of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Te Chamber team hope that members are pleased with progress that we have made and we are determined to continue the momentum in the years to 2016 covered by this new business plan. “Our work over the next three

years will focus on a number of key areas, including expanding Chamber income, and ensuring income streams are well diversified through developing new commercial services. “We will seek to further embed

the relationship with Glasgow City Council, including through the successful delivery of the existing Strategic Agreement. “We shall also seek to deliver a

small surplus each year to ensure the continued health of Glasgow Chamber and the continuation and expansion of services in the interest of our members.”
