Innovation Little’s online portal makes a big impact at travel show
Chauffeur business Little’s has launched an innovative new online portal as part of its service, which is set to transform the Little’s experience. The most advanced of its kind in the industry, the new interactive system was recently unveiled at the Business Travel Show at Earl’s Court, in London, and will be operational later this year. Little’s also officially introduced
its new re-brand and website at the show, all of which are part of a major investment programme for 2014 – Scotland’s big year. The bespoke online portal created
a lot of attention at the show from visitors. The features that impressed include a digital client diary with immediate 24-hour access, QR codes which make calling chauffeurs directly even easier, a real-time car tracking system, financial reporting and the ability to store and recall personalised information quickly. The software has been designed
to cater to the wants and needs of the company’s clients, making the booking process and journey more time efficient and interactive. The new technology also extends to the experience in the company’s cars, which will feature 4G connectivity.

Volunteering Finding time to help the next generation of managers
Four members of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce recently took part in the University of Strathclyde’s Management Development Programme. The three-year course is a core
element of the undergraduate degree programme at Strathclyde Business School and the businesses’ involvement helped students make connections with practical business issues. Office cleaning company
Coronet Clean Team, environmental consultancy Mabbett & Associates, property services firm DM Hall, and IT and data company UK Fast each
gave students real life case studies to engage with.
The businesses gave up a morning
and afternoon (over two days) to present to 200 students each day, outlining a question or topic to research in relation to their business. For example, Mabbett & Associates

Hospice’s winning recipe
GCM creative is proud to have designed and produced, free of charge, the Glasgow Cooks Better recipe book on behalf of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice Brick by Brick Appeal to help build a new hospice in Glasgow. The 116-page book is full of fantastic food recipes from Glasgow’s top

asked students to undertake market research and analyse competitors in the firm’s planned opening of a new office in Liverpool. The students were then asked to prepare a business growth strategy for the new office. Shona MacPherson, Glasgow
Chamber’s Workforce Solutions Executive, who facilitated the
involvement, said: “The four members who volunteered designed a current business case study for the students to work on. Their involvement was highly valued by the students and our members who took part also gained from the experience. “It is planned to run the event
again in November and I hope other Glasgow Chamber members will volunteer to take part.” The companies’ involvement also
had another beneficial outcome. As a result of meeting to take part in the programme, Mabbett & Associates has now given its office cleaning contract to Coronet Clean Team.
