azards and risks in the workplace may not always be seen, but they should never be ignored. From the threat


of tripping and slipping, to fires and explosions, employers must have all the bases covered.

Consultant for Mabbet & Associates Ltd, said: “We encounter hazards and risks in our lives, in and out of the workplace. A hazard is anything that may cause harm and a risk is the chance, high or low, of somebody being harmed by that hazard and how serious


the harm could be. Tere will always be a range of hazards in the workplace. However, the level of risk associated with exposure will be determined by the severity of the hazard and the likelihood/duration of exposure.”
