Until January 30 Stick Man Trail, Bedgebury Pinetum, Goudhurst A family walk through the forest, where children can look for clues to help them find 10 forest activities. At each trail location, a panel will tell children what their next activity will be. These include building a den, exploring tree patterns, creating a stick man and listening to the sounds of the forest. Trail packs will cost £1 each. A Ladybird Childhood Exhibition, Maidstone Museum An exhibition to enthral both young and old, “A Ladybird Childhood” will feature the evocative illustrations from the vintage Ladybird classics. Included in the selection will be the original images from the popular well-loved tale Cinderella. Reissued to mark the 50th anniversary of its first publication, you can rediscover your favourite childhood tales.

History of Mote Park, Mote Park, Maidstone Records of Mote Park date back to 1267, so why not join this guided walk and spend an evening exploring the hidden history of this beautiful park. The free event runs from 6.30pm to 9pm. Pre-booking is required. Call 01622 602119.


January 12,19 & 26 Roast and Ramble, Ightham Mote Build up an appetite with a midday walk round the estate and surrounding countryside, then return to the Mote Restaurant for a two-course roast. Stout shoes or boots and appropriate clothing are essential. Dogs on leads are welcome but the event is not suitable for small children or buggies. It runs from 11am to 3pm, booking essential. Medway Big Splash The Big Splash is Medway Sport's new swimming-based mass participation event. The weekend-long event will showcase watersports, aquatics and water-based activity sessions, all culminating in a mass community swim challenge to see how far people in Medway can swim in one day. Take up the challenge at either Medway Park or Strood Sports Centre and swim between one length and one mile, as a team or individually, for charity or just for fun. You can sign up to swim one of the following target


distances: one, 16, 32, 48 or 64 lengths. The Big Swim is free to enter and every participant receives a free souvenir T-shirt. The Medway Big Swim Challenge is for swimmers aged eight or over, taking place between 10am and 4pm.
