March 15,16 & 22,23 Day Out with Thomas, Kent & East Sussex Railway, Tenterden Thomas will be at Tenterden Station throughout each day, together with some of his friends including Sir Topham Hatt and The Fat Controller. The ticket price includes a 70-minute train ride to Northiam Station behind one of the railway’s engines, the chance to enjoy “Thomas & Friends” station scenarios as well as a fun-packed programme of children’s events with Uncle Myles and Charlie the Clown. Families can also enjoy face painting, roundabout rides, a bouncy castle and colouring activities. There will be a fun sing-along session and a special coal cake presentation for Thomas each day. Watch Punch & Judy shows at 11.30am, 12.50pm and 2.10pm, and enjoy Uncle Myles and Billy the Magic Rabbit’s magic show and balloon modelling at 3.30pm every day. Book early to avoid disappointment.


March 16 Young Musician of the Year, Stag Community Arts Centre, Sevenoaks Now in its 20th anniversary year, young and talented instrumentalists from around the UK will compete for the title Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year. This annual and prestigious event features up to 16 competitors each giving a 15-minute recital in front of an audience and two distinguished judges. The event is for all ages and takes place at both 10am and 11.30am. Entry is £7.50. U16s are free.

Visit the library for demonstrations and talks by professional conservators and castle volunteers on how they are repairing the collection. Mosaic Making, Lullingstone Roman Villa, Eynsford This course is suitable for adults, starter students and professionals. All levels are catered for at this fascinating Roman mosaic-making workshop. You will be able to work with a variety of different mosaics,


from beautiful Venetian glass smalti, including gold mosaics, to the colourful and varied vitreous glass and water glass. All materials, equipment and tools will be provided. Adults only. March 20 Heart of Kent Hospice Ladies Charity Lunch, Chilston Park Hotel, Lenham The Grade I hotel, set in 22 acres of parkland offers glamour and elegance for any occasion. It has many interesting artefacts that date back as far as the 17th century manor house. The restaurant features two AA rosettes.
