Police Panto –

Pun-nokio The ever-popular ‘Police Panto’ returns for its 16th year in a row. A travelling show, hosted by scheming showman Simon Scowl, arrives in a peaceful village. Scowl is on the lookout for novelty acts to win him fame and fortune in a European song contest. He sees his opportunity in a strange wooden boy ‘Pun- nokio’ and plans to take him by ship to Boot Camp at Scowl Island. Along the way he is thwarted by Dopey Dame, Gelato Gepetto, scardy cat, Jimmy Brickitt and a whole catalogue of vintage Eurovision songs, guaranteed to make any evil villain quake in their panto boots. Added to this mix are popular principal Prince Pleasant, brave beauty Belinda Blue and a host of characters crazier than a Eurovision judge. Pun-nokio promises great sets, hilarious routines and live music featuring songs more cheesy than an Edam factory. See the show and Pun- nokio come to life and help the members and friends of Kent Police raise funds for Parkinson’s UK, Operation Shoebox and Cheerful Sparrows (Thanet). Theatre Royal Margate. Thursday February 20 – Saturday February 22, 2pm and 7pm daily

Jesus Christ

Superstar Airbrush Productions bring the epic rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar to the Hazlitt stage by special arrangement with the Really Useful Group.

See How They Run

See How They Run is the first theatre tour starring The Reduced Height Theatre Company and Warwick Davis, the most famous short actor in Britain who is best known for his roles in Willow, Star Wars, the Harry Potter Series and most recently on our TV screens in Life’s Too Short and An Idiot Abroad 3. This wonderfully funny and much loved farce is brought to life on stage once again – this time with a difference. It still features hilarious comic situations involving mistaken identity, doors and vicars but the comedy will be heightened by the fact that the cast are all under four foot tall!

With a multi award-winning rock score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of the last seven days of Jesus of Nazareth. Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone. Wednesday March 19 – Saturday March 22, 7.30pm daily

Russell Kane:
