DICKENSIAN CHRISTMAS
Ryde Business Association are delighted to invite one and all to join them the weekend of December 7th and 8th for Ryde Dickensian Christmas.
Celebrate Christmas in Dickensian style whilst you do your Christmas shopping. The highlight of the festivities will be the Royal visit on Saturday at 11.30am but there is much more besides. Vintage fun fair rides, traditional farmer’s market, travelling street performers, a tarot reading Victorian gypsy, bell ringers, Ryde Swing Band, Italian Christmas market, wandering carol singers, Santa’s Grotto plus many more entertainments for all the family.
With late night shopping until 7pm on Thursday 5th December, Ryde has everything you need for that extra special Christmas.
Pets With Hart
Sharon and David Groves, owners of the independent pet shop ‘Pets with Hart’ on Holyrood St, New- port; have been recognised for the fantastic work they do as animal health advisers as well as the standards which they maintain at their shop. In October they recei- ved three accolades at the ‘Over the Counter’ Annual Awards which recognise exemplary standards of knowledge transfer, customer ser-
vice and commitment to ongoing learning within the Pet Trade. The awards were: Winner of ‘Indepen- dent Store of the Year’, Winner of ‘Companion SQP of the Year’ (David) and Reserve ‘Companion SQP of the Year’ (Sharon). These awards are UK - wide so whether you’re after advice or need to stock up on supplies, visit the nation’s best for everything you need for your pets!
Every picture tells a story
Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year 2013
Entries for the Isle of Wight Photographer of the Year 2013 are now open! Photographers currently resident on the Island are invited to submit photographs taken during 2013 which fit with this year’s theme – Every Picture Tells a Story.
The closing date for entries is midnight 28th November 2013 and entrants must register for the competition in advance. Full details and regulations can be found at:

Shortlisted entries will be exhibited at Dimbola Museum & Gal- leries from 11th January until 30th March 2014 and also shown online. The winner will be announced at a special awards evening held at Dimbola on Saturday 11th January 2014.
