y entire career has been spent in positions related to marketing, community, and eco- nomic development and community rela- tions fields. I have never had a “9 to 5 job.” My family has had to put up with my long


hours and many weekends away from home.


Throughout all of this, though, I have enjoyed the chal- lenges of working with the many diverse groups within a community. I’ve had the opportunity to work in gov- ernment, business, and the nonprofit sectors.


Working in such diverse fields as government, banking, healthcare and tourism has given me a unique per- spective on how things work within communities. In addition, I have been a serial volunteer, serving onmore than 30 different boards of directors throughout my career.


These volunteer experiences have been both incredibly fulfilling and educational. Many of my most significant
