Tropicana underwent a series of signifi- cant renovation projects at a cost of $25 million that included improvements to its guest rooms, restaurants, nightlife and a nearly $4 million investment into the casino floor. Construction was complet- ed near the end of 2012.
Additionally, five new dining outlets opened at Tropicana’s Marketplace (on the Boardwalk side) anchored by a two- story Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House and Sports Bar. The other four newly opened eateries include: Tony Luke’s cheese steaks; Marketplace Express; Casa Taco and Tequila Bar; and Perry’s Pizza. and surf shop to Resorts. The $35 mil- lion complex consists of Margaritaville Cafe, LandShark Bar and Grill, Margaritaville Coffee Shop, a themed casino, retail shops and more. Among these new venues, Margaritaville Cafe and LandShark Bar and Grill are avail- able for private parties and events.
Margaritaville at Resorts Casino features a stage for nightly live entertainment, a tiki bar, and Buffett-inspired accent pieces throughout, including a giant blender at the restaurant’s entrance. Whether entertaining a few clients or just getting together for dinner with old friends, groups will enjoy the entertaining atmosphere of escape at Margaritaville.
LandShark Bar and Grill is the only year- round full-service bar and restaurant on the beach side of the boardwalk. Situated on 200-feet of beachfront at the site of the Old Steeplechase Pier, LandShark Bar and Grill brings guests to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
Inspired by the great "beach joints" that once dotted the Atlantic Coast, this venue features retractable walls that provide spectacular views.
