Taste&Experience byKenAlan
GrammyAward-winning country musician Jim Lauderdale is extending a hearty welcome fromMusic CityRoots, Live at the Loveless Café.There, up on stage and introducing a revolving showcase of amazing musicians (including up-and-c oming fiddlerAprilVerch, and the brilliant duo BlackViolin who meld classical music with hip-hop), I take it all in, feeling fairly stunned at being here with this living Bluegrass legend at the famed Loveless Café - as southern and soul-soothing as it gets inNashville,Tennessee.
In one hand I’m holding a crispy, well-seasoned chicken leg; below my folding chair is a half-drunk plastic cup ofOle SmokyMoonshine splashed with “Co-Cola.” GoodAmerican music, corn liquor, fried food - I’m fitting right in. “ThankGod I’m a county boy!” I say to myself with a potent moonshine-y salute.
