Hospice also becomes a Platinum Partner
The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice has also become a Platinum Partner of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The hospice exists to help patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. While it may not be possible to add days to lives, it aims to add life to days and, as a registered charity, its care is free of charge. The hospice has developed and grown from its early beginnings in 1983 when it occupied one Georgian townhouse in Carlton Place, Glasgow.
Today, it occupies four adjacent townhouses which have been developed to create one building. However, due to the constraints of the
present facility, which has been developed as far as possible, it is being hampered in its ability to grow and develop. It has therefore unveiled plans to build a new hospice for the people of Glasgow, which will enhance its current services and allow it to lower the age limit to those aged 15 and above. The Brick by Brick Appeal will raise the remaining £15 million needed for this 21st century hospice.
