British bred horses have been enjoying well deserved success across the disciplines ahead of the 2013 European Championships. British bred, Half Moon Delphi has been selected for Team GBR for the European Dressage Championships. The Global Champions Tour showjumping series has had two British bred horses taking runner up spots and two British bred horses, Miners Frolic and Briarlands Matilda, have been selected for Team GBR for the European Eventing Championships.

London 2012 Gold medallist Tripple X, (Namelus R x Cantango Z) took 2nd place in the Longines Global Champions Tour in London last month. In the Monaco stage of the Longines Global Champions tour, Billy Congo (Vechta x Animo) and William Funnell took 2nd place, this followed up on another 2nd place for the pair in the Cannes leg of the tour in June. Former European Champion and reigning Olympic Silver medallist Miners Frolic (Miners Lamp x Oats) has been selected to represent Britain at the 2013 European Eventing Championships in Malmo, Sweden with Kristina Cook. Briarlands Matilda (Miley x Briarlands Appleby) took 3rd place at Bramham three day event and 7th place at Burghley in 2012 with Izzy Taylor and they will be making their senior team debut in Malmo.

Other notable British bred successes at Badminton included former British Eventing young horse champion, Borough Penny Z, (Cevin Z x Symfonie) who took 7th place ridden by Vittoria Panizzon. The Burghley 2012 winner Avebury, both bred and ridden by Andrew Nicholson, also had a very fruitful time at Badminton, finishing in 11th place. Spring Pascal and Woodlander Farouche headed up classes at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage. Part bred Cleveland Bay, Spring Pascal won the Andrews Bowen FEI Grand Prix at Hartpury, ridden by British Young Rider team member, Samantha Thurman-Baker. 5 and 6 year old World Young Horse Champion, Woodlander Farouche (Furst Heinrich x Dimaggio) won the Hartpury Lovington Ice Advanced Medium, again ridden by Michael Eilberg. Dressage sports pony stallion, Le Chiffre (Caesar 171 x Tiger Lily) who won the award for the top scoring pony in the 2008 BEF Futurity, has been nominated for his first international competition.
