The Kinning Park-based business, which triumphed in the Best Performing Business (25 employees or under) category in the Glasgow Business Awards 2012, looks certain to be destined for other trophies ahead. The existing roster of Sports Merchandise

Global’s customers features names that grace the lists of cup winners and top league positions. It provides branded merchandise

for football clubs including Manchester United, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Of course, it is not just football clubs’ brands

that feature on the quality products it provides. It also works with the British and Irish Lions and English Rugby, Basketball’s NBA and the International Cricket Council. Mike Smith, CEO of Sport Merchandise Global, said: “We provide anything that sports clubs or their corporate sponsors need in the way of merchandise. “We will do everything from keyrings,

pens, water bottles, umbrellas, jackets – you name it we do it.

“We work with Manchester United, as a provider for their merchandising

requirements – for the club and for their sponsors at a global level. “If one of the sponsors eg Epson Printers

want to do a T-shirt celebrating their relationship with Manchester United then we would do that for them. “We have rigorous quality standards

already supplies merchandise to every continent in the world and has a clear strategy for continued growth. It was this drive, passion
