Recruitment

Service is just the job

Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has launched a new “one-stop shop” to support businesses which are looking to increase their workforce through recruitment. Workforce Solutions aims to simplify the overall process for businesses wishing to take on new staff, helping to reduce the confusion and uncertainly which can often exist among employers in relation to the distribution of recruitment services across multiple different organisations. Working in partnership with

Local Service Authorities in the city, including Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Regeneration Agency, Jobcentre Plus and Skills Development Scotland, the project has consolidated a wide range of services which are offered on an individual basis throughout Glasgow. Workforce Solutions aims to establish itself as a single point of contact for members promoting the

were 2.9 million private limited companies in the UK and more than one million young people out of work. Targeting under-24s,

the project aims to take on youngsters as ‘green champions’, helping save money by boosting energy costs and boost environmental credentials. Champions operate on a

cost-neutral basis with salaries over a year offset by energy savings and money otherwise earmarked for tax. Sir Willie set up the scheme along with other entrepreneurs after seeing the damaging effects which large-scale youth unemployment can have, and the wide range of problems it can cause. Your Chamber supports

services that are currently available within the city. The initiative will offer advice and

guidance on the services which are available for the many companies within the city who are keen to grow their business, but are unsure how to proceed, whether that is looking to up-skill existing staff or expand a team.

This includes offering a tailored approach to recruitment needs,

information on funding and training initiatives as well as large-scale recruitment campaigns.
