Proud new owners of CW Highpoint, Jan and Risty Schmidt are looking forward to taking on the challenge of creating one of the most enjoyable boarding facilities around. Jan and Risty Schmidt of Coolwater Quarter Horses in Bright, ON are proud to announce the purchase of their new boarding facility, CW Highpoint Inc. Highpoint was for- merly known as Bayus Stables, a farm very familiar to the equestrian community in South- western Ontario. Boasting some of the largest turnouts in the area, an insulated indoor arena, sand ring, round pen, acres of private trail rid- ing, 36 stalls and more, the farm combines all the amenities with exceptional equine care. Enhancements are being made to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the prop- erty. Work is being done on landscaping, updates of the arena and interior of the barn, improving the turnouts and trail system, etc. The Schmidts are no strangers to the equine industry. Risty grew up around horses, and they have been a constant thread throughout his life. He and Jan have been dedicated to breeding, raising and showing top quality Quarter Horses since 1964. Coolwater currently stands Reserve World Champion stal- lion “Its Kid To You”. The Schmidts are looking forward to putting their decades of knowledge and experience to work at Highpoint in combination with the facility’s onsite manager, Kelly Howling of EquineAware Horsemanship. Kelly has a lifelong pas- sion for horses and many years of experience, including several as a coach/trainer specializing in working with performance horses (hunter/jumpers and dressage), young/challenging horses, and beginner to intermediate riders.
