OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2012 THE RIDER /21 Ontario’s Mane Event, a feature of the 20th All About Pets Show

Communication is Key Among Roster of Renowned Clinicians at Ontario’s Mane Event, a feature of the 20th All About Pets Show March 29-31, 2013, International Centre. Communication with our equine partners, regardless of breed, discipline or job description, will be the key message from a stellar roster of renowned clinicians and keynote speakers at Ontario’s Mane Event, the first ever equestrian showcase held during the 20th annual All About Pets Show, March 29 through 31 at Toronto’s Interna- tional Centre.

Considered a pioneer among women in the equine industry, Florida resident Lynn Palm has honed the “Palm Partnership Training” from years of experience as an all around trainer, showman and multi championship title exhibitor. With 34 Reserve and World Championship titles, over 50 special brideless exhibitions, and recently, clinician and entertainer at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington Kentucky, Palm’s unique approach to

training combines correct riding skills and building knowledge to increase the riding longevity of our horses. A published author, judge and TV host, Lynn will be a special guest at the show, with two clinics each day on Friday and Saturday.

Considered the “Dr. Phil” for horse owners and riders, Chris Irwin’s mission is to change the way we communicate with our horses. Known as the guy who could turn around “last chance horses”, Chris’ clinics have evolved to include high performance horses with behavioural problems. His book “Horses Don’t Lie” was an instant best seller in both Canada and the US. A sought after clinician at the premier equine events across North America, Chris’ evolu- tionary brand of training, based on a strong founda- tion of horse behaviour, has extended his reach and influence to equine expos in horse-centric countries like Holland, Belgium and Ireland.

A “horseman’s horseman”, Colorado native Josh Lyons is respected across North America for both his training methods and the Lyons Certifica-

tion Program which has produced hundreds of quali- fied trainers across 43 states and six countries. Win- ner of the celebrated “In a Whisper Challenge”, Josh’s understanding of the horse’s mind and his ability to bring out the best in both horses and riders have made him a featured guest at major equine expos across North America and one of the most respected trainers and clinicians in the world. Visi- tors to Ontario’s Mane Event will have the opportu- nity watch and learn from Lyons with two clinics daily Friday through Sunday.

“I speak for the animals”, says communicator Lauren Bode, “with the goal of providing greater health and better relationships with their human part- ners.” Equally at home as the “voice” of horses, dogs and cats, Lauren provides the link to forging stronger bonds, mutual trust and respect. A lucky group of owners will have the opportunity to experience first- hand “telepathic” communication with their own horses at the show through a special on-line contest.
