Youth Variety Beginning FUN-gineering


Young engineers will build working models of simple machines such as a seesaw, rolling vehicle, and hockey player using LEGO Educational Kits. Children will have a great time working on activities designed around creativity, exploring, investigating, and problem solving in a fun group environment! While building these fun and interactive models, they will learn about levers, pulleys, gears, wheels and axles. There will be 2 students per Lego kit. (6 classes) No class 11/21.

Poms uses technique from jazz, ballet, hip hop, tumbling, and much more. Pommies will work on sharpness of steps, work on arm movements, jumps, turns, and much more, while using poms. Ripples, counting, rhythm will all be worked on. Attire: t-shirt and comfortable stretchy pants such as dance pants, sweats, or shorts. No jeans or khakis, even the stretchy kind! Clean soled gym shoes or a jazz sneaker is best for this class. (6 classes)

Crime Scene Investigation: Use logic, your senses and forensicscience to solve crimes. Learn how to work the field scene and the laboratory end of CSI. We’ll use finger printing, tire tread patterns and more. Each lesson will focus on a new forensic skill which will lead to solving a final investigation. No blood, no gore... just excitement galore! Making Your Own Batman Movie Join us as we shine the Bat light to summon directors, writers, creators and editors of our own movie productions. You will work in teams to create your own story and script. You will design your own backgrounds and use Batman figures as characters and film your movie using special movie making cameras and software. We will use graphic editing techniques and stop motion animation, add back- ground noise and music. Students will receive a copy of their movie. (6 classes)

Video Game Animation


Dive into the world of video game animation by creating characters that dance, sing, and interact with one another. Students will work in teams to create their dynamic video animation game by using software cre- ated just for kids. They will add some sound effects and music clips, and afterwards, they can post their video game online so that friends, parents, and even grandparents can play!
