Portrait frontispiece. Spine slightly faded, slight crease to original front card wrapper, otherwise a very good copy.


First edition, presentation copy in a special binding with secretarial manuscript inscription on front free endpaper “a madame varin-Bernier hommage affectueux de” with Petain’s facsimile signature printed below with printed date 20-1-42, and with a blind stamp roundel “Le chef de l’Etat Francaise”.
