As stated before, Newport is a smart and connected city with much to offer including being strategically located, a skilled workforce and a variety of business and industrial premises across the city with excellent facilities.


Would you like to see people living and working in the area rather than commuting out of the area to work? Preferably yes as this helps create more stable communities but what is important is that we are able to offer all our residents, wherever they work, a great environment in which to live, work and play.


Do you use social media to spread your message and how effective do you think it is? We use a variety of methods to get our message across including social media. The council now has a Facebook page and a Twitter account. Although it is early days we are finding that ‘tweets’ are especially effective at reaching a large number of people and we will be looking to develop this further as we see it as being another useful way of letting the world know Newport is a smart and connected city.
