Who are you and what do you do? Joy Phillips, Practice Director at Harding Evans Solicitors in Newport

What was your first car and what did you think of it? I ‘inherited’ my husband’s Mark II Ford Escort - red with a black roof. I was very fond of that car until someone kindly wrote it off for me in a rear end shunt!

What do you drive now and why? An Audi TT cabriolet - red with a black roof. I have previously owned a TT cabriolet and, on the odd occasions when we have nice days in the summer, nothing beats a drive on a long country road with the roof down!

What is your dream motor? I dream about owning a Ferrari Testarossa but might settle for a 458 Spider instead - whichever it would have to be red!

Would you ever go electric? Why? I would if (a) performance was not compromised and (b) if there were easily available options to

What does a car say about its owner? Not really thought about it although my friends do say that my car suits me - loud and a little bit naughty!

How important is it for you in your line of business to have the car that you do? It is important that I have a vehicle to do my job although I don’t believe clients judge how good/successful I am by the car I drive. What really impresses them in the quality of the legal advice and support they get from my colleagues at Harding Evans. The car I drive is purely down to my own personal preference rather from any belief that people judge success by the car you drive.

What other cars have you owned? Fiesta XR2 (red - what a surprise!), Nissan NX100 (red - boring!), and another Audi TT cabriolet (blue! - there were no red ones in stock!)

What’s your next car? Trying not to think about it. I am married to an

accountant and with a relatively new car with low mileage I have no expectation of anything being written into our household budget for a new car any time soon! Whatever it is, it could well be red!

Favourite road to drive on and why? The Amalfi coast - winding roads, beautiful scenery and sun beating down. Although I think I enjoyed it much more than my husband who was sat in the passenger seat!
