to them on the way home (hopefully) – that the journey didn’t seem to take very long. It’s only 20 minutes more than getting into London from Guildford. Get them on a bike, zip
wire, golf course, lake, just do something that fills their lungs.
3. Focus on new markets
Target clients which don’t need close proximity to large cities. Telesales, call centres, software, IT, internet entrepreneurs, idea hubs, textiles and crafts. You’ve got a ready-made
workforce, much cheaper rent and schemes on your doorstep
such as the Sir Terry Matthews- fronted Alacrity (next generation of technology entrepreneurs). There’s a little big thing
happening in Wales called the Do Lectures (talks which inspire action). Some of the greatest minds of our generation are heading to a campsite in Wales to share food, ideas, companionship and listen to a series of inspiring 20 minute talks. If you want proof that this
movement is relevant to the corporate world, look no further than the fact that the event is being replicated in a Californian Vineyard... and will be sponsored by Bloomberg. Their website reminds us of
the greatness of Wales, with the best quote (which I understand isn’t new) ‘A small clever country called Wales’...
