Serving you since 1993 Save Money with
After successful grant schemes for boilers, air conditioning and windows, you’d think that the savings possibilities from your plumber were all dried up. With 100% Plumbing, that’s just not the case. Here are 3 more ways you can save real hard cash.
Firstly, if you have received what seems like an excessive water bill, this could be because of a leak. You could be literally wasting thousands of euros. So what’s to be done. Well of course we can locate and repair the leak with our sophisticated leak detection equipment - Mike’s detective brain! Beyond detection, we can provide a report which may well enable you to claim back a large part of your bill. And if you’re unsure how to go about this, we can handle the claim for you.
Secondly, if you have a Gas Tank and are paying more than 10€ a month for your tank rental, we can change you to a tank and supplier who will charge you less. And there’s no installation cost. You save by paying for your gas in monthly instalments, but buying in bulk! Furthermore, we are authorised agents and so can handle any queries in English!
Finally, did you know that 100% Plumbing is one of the very few companies now able to service and recharge your air- conditioning units since the new restrictions came into force. This may leave many people in a position where they can’t upgrade existing units, let alone service existing units. Since we are fully qualified, we can do this for you, saving you the cost of having to replace your existing installation.
Oh, and one more thing, if you are a member of a club or society, check that we don’t offer a special membership discount, we’re surprised how many people don’t know about this! If your club doesn’t, get on to the powers that be, and we can add you!

Going, Going... Green!
The temperature has gone up. The pool has gone green. It’s been that time of year again for us at Pool Solutions. The
phone gets busier with the cries of ‘Help’ when a customer gets caught out with the combination of temperature rise, too lower a filtration time, too little chlorine... and dare we say it, not enough cleaning...
Here, at Pool Solutions we’ll give you all the advice and products you need to get your pool back in order, but sometimes it’s not enough. Why doesn’t cleaning and chlorine shock treatment work? Why does the pool keep going green - it didn’t used to?
Look at the picture here of something we come across quite regularly. This is how bad it can get in a sand filter after years of use - a pea souper of sun creams and oils, debris and bacteria. This is normal (well almost), but the filter inevitably gets less efficient as the sand starts to saturate and cake, irrespective of how much water is wasted to backwash it. Yes, you can compensate with increasing the pump filtration time and you can add more chemicals, but at some point the sand has to be replaced.
However, there is an alternative to sand as a material for filtration and it’s much better - it’s glass. In fact we recommend and install glass media in nearly all filters. It lasts much longer than sand, up to 10 years instead of 5, and filtration efficiency goes up which means less chemicals and healthier pool water. How and why? Glass is less porous than sand, does not saturate like sand and, unlike sand, denies algae the opportunity to form in the filter.
