SPN APR 2012 One-piecePools

It allows, he says, for confidence that nothing is going to go wrong. You can be confident, for example, that any sort of sharp object isn’t going to tear or damage it which might be the case with a liner pool.

The quality of production gives a one-piece pool an impressive longevity. Sundance pool shells come with a 10 year guarantee against manufacturing faults.

SELF CLEANING PUTS COMPASS IN A STRONG MARKET POSITION

The market for one piece pools is so competitive now that any extra product edge can quickly gain larger market share.

Compass Pools and Compass Ceramic Pools has a strong position in this particular market with a unique ceramic finish and its respected ‘self cleaning’ facility.

Compass Ceramic Pools’ high stock levels in Europe now means the company can provide the pool purchaser with installation times down to one or two weeks. This means installers can get a fast turn round of sites.

The pools can, if you want, come with everything complete – steps, a gently sloping floor, seats, perimeter grip rails – all incorporated into the original mould. They are pre-plumbed with flexible pipe. Compass claim their pools are a superior product and a developing product which is also getting competitive on price with shorter build times and controlled and predictable building costs. What has made the Compass brand stand out is its unique Vantage Cleaning System, a self cleaning system of around nine strategically placed nozzles that rise from the floor of the pool to clean and sweep away debris.

right price is one key issue for Verdun Bailey who promotes the Australian made Leisure Pools one- piece pools in the UK.

“I think one-piece pools will gradually continue to increase to sell more and more in the UK especially if they can be sold at the right price and that will be an important factor. “We are able to offer this economy of scale and take a view of the market and say rather than making say 35% by selling two pools, we might prefer to make a 1% margin by selling 22,” says Verdun, Managing Director of Ambassador Pools.

Leisure Pools Europe is part of the Ambassador Leisure Group, the largest online business selling swimming pool products in the UK. The quality one-piece pools are imported from Australia where the brand name is respected and hugely successful in terms of the number of pool installations. There is certainly a new confidence about the quality of one-piece pools and the Leisure Pools which arrive in the UK are all the result of an extensive research and development programme, which includes each pool receiving a six layer fibreglass swimming pool construction process including a chemical resistant and UV stabilised gel coat, structured layers of fibreglass and resin and finally a resin flowcoat to seal the whole structure.

NO REPAINTING, RESURFACING OR RETILING, EVER!

Multiforma is one of the oldest and most respected swimming pool manufacturers in Europe and holds government accreditations for the materials used as well as the manufacturing processes. Materials used for the pools are selected not just for their quality but because they

pass the UNE 53955 standard tests and controls. Multiforma uses a combination of

epoxyvinylester resin, the highest quality fibreglass and an Iso-Neopentyl glycol gel coat finish in the manufacture of their pools. Twenty six pools make up the range in sizes from 3 metres to 10 metres. An endless pool effect which is much in demand from Multiforma has additional side grating which drops down to house the cover and gives the infinity pool effect.

The range includes constant depth pools which have become very popular, so popular that a new flat bottomed pool has been introduced in the classic Roman ended Nilo range. This new model is 9.2m x 4.1m x 1.5m deep.

The options are endless, customised colours, mosaic tiled borders, overflow systems, special depths, overflow pools, light weight installations for penthouse and roof top installations and counter-current.

“When the pool arrives on site it has already been fitted with all the equipment needed, e.g. underwater lights, skimmer, water inlets etc. It is then lowered into the hole and backfilled with sand/chemicals and fibreglass, less pool maintenance chemicals are required. Importantly – the colour will never wear away – no repainting, resurfacing or retiling, ever!

Multiforma has produced more than 30,000 fibreglass pools since 1972. spn
