SHOWCAD | ARTIST www.showcad.com

ShowCAD Control Systems produced the world’s first PC based effect lighting control system in 1991 with ShowCAD for DOS. Count- less upgrades over the past twenty years have evolved the system to ShowCAD Artist. The Artist system controls up to 128,000+ DMX channels and supports many input / output protocols. It features innovative programming of large LED arrays, multi-layering of effects, pixel-array fixture types, text-generators, clocks, timecoding, setup wizards, macro generators and video to DMX features, as well as com- prehensive tools for intelligent and conventional lighting control. Far from such impressive features making programming and operation a daunting prospect, it actually makes life a lot easier than struggling with controllers lacking such innovations. Installations are so numerous, it is impossible to list them here, but prominent venues include The Bellagio & Mirage Las Vegas, theme parks such as Busch Gardens, Seaworld and Universal Studios in Florida, Stratofantazia in Hong Kong Harbour, numerous cruise ships, water fountain light shows, historic buildings in India, Blackpool Tower and surrounding streets, architectural installations such as Bahrain Financial Harbour, Sava Bridge Bel- grade, the Edinburgh Conference Centre - as well as the thousands of nightclubs great and small for which ShowCAD are most renowned.

SWEETLIGHT | PIXELS www.sweetlight-controller.com

Pixels is a new program to pixel map LEDs to monuments and buildings. The first thing to do is to import a picture of the monument, and to place the led fixtures over this picture. Then, with a lasso, we select areas with LED fixtures, and we create one light effect for each area. Several light effects for different areas can played simultenaously. Different light effects can be merged on same fixtures, like for instance a rainbow effect plus a scrolling text. All these light effects together make one project. Pixels can handle several projects, and it can generate one ‘regular’ light scene from each project. This light scene can be played together with the other existing light scenes (like scenes for par cans or moving lights). It can also be played without computer in stand alone mode.
