150 GUIDE - LIGHTING CONTROL - DIMMERS
ADB | EURODIM TWIN TECH

Eurodim Twin Tech from ADB is a new generation of professional installation dimmers marrying the best of two worlds: Transistor Technol- ogy for state-of-the-art sine wave dimming, and cost effective Thyristor Technology with its proven track record, now featured in the versatile DimSwitch module. The innovative Eurodim Twin Tech concept allows for plug-in modules of any type or rating to be freely mixed and moved in any confi guration within a universal cabinet. Modules are instantly recognised by the automatic module identifi cation function in the cabinet’s central electronics. This represents the ultimate in fl exibility. For example, it allows empty cabinets to be installed on site, while the modules can be specifi ed and plugged in later. The DimSwitch dual capability thyristor module can act either as a switch for normally non-dimmable loads or as a normal dimmer for halogen lamps with no minimum load required. Dual cabling is no longer necessary, replacing the need for special relay control cabinets with a single cabinet. The solid-state relay has no mechanical components which can wear out, maximising reliability. When DimSwitch is used in dimming mode, it functions like a regular high quality 3kW or 5kW dimmer.
ELECTRON | DMR.730

The DMR.730 is the new dimmer by Electron. It is specially designed for dimmable 230V LED lamps. The DMR.730 is manufactured with the new technology, Switch Mode Regulated Dimming (SMRD), which is developed and patent pending by Electron. This technology allows true fl icker free operation, thus it makes the DMR.730 the only dimmer that achieves stable output voltage, unaffected from mains fl uctuations. In fact, the output remains stable even at 230V, in power supply range from 173V to 265V. This trailing edge dimmer offers a variety of options and functions.

This 4 x 5A dimmer pack can serve as a stand alone dimmer with local level adjustments and even chaser presets, but also as a remotely controlled unit with very fl exible DMX implementation. It is available with IEC, Schuko or NEMA output connectors and can run all four outputs separately, in groups of two or all from one DMX channel. A really useful feature is the limiter which makes sure that the current drawn from its input never exceeds 16A, preventing the circuit breaker of the supply blowing which is especially useful in smaller setups for bands and DJs. The carrying handle on this unit and the detachable power cord make the unit convenient for small productions, pub and bar applications or just about any dimming job anywhere. Hank Bushes are provide for the atachment of a G Clamp and safety lug allowing use of the dimmer suspended from a lighting bar or truss.
