PLANNING YOUR TRANSPORT Transport continued from page 49

sure you keep the time of year in mind, and plan for bad weather even if you’re getting married in summer. Umbrellas are sometimes provided by the company, but you may want to pack one just in case. If you’re getting married during the cold season check if your chosen car has heating. If not, ask for blankets to be provided. Make sure your chosen vehicle has enough space for you and your outfit – wedding attire can take up a lot of room! Make sure you check with the company how many the car can seat (ask them to be realistic!). Before you make a final decision on a car company, make sure you know how many cars you will need. Traditionally, the best man accompanies the groom, while the bridesmaids and mother of the bride share a car, with the bride and her father travelling in a separate one. Before you sign on the dotted line make sure you ask to see a copy of the company’s terms and conditions and double check its charging policies. Ask if they charge for the hour or if you can arrange a flat fee that covers extra mileage and petrol fees, as this can often work out cheaper Don’t forget the additional touches. Ask if the company is willing to decorate your car. If so, make sure you provide them with your colour theme. Does champagne come as part of the package? Or at an extra cost?
