PLANNING YOUR HEALTH, BODY & MIND Health, Body & Mind continued from page 29 Your bridal beauty schedule ✦ Four months before the big day

Visit a local beautician, who will have a list of treatments to specifically target your skin type. If budgets are tight, seek advice from over-the-counter beauty experts at a department store, as they can recommend products suitable for your skin and you may even get a makeover out of it!

✦ Three months

Choose your fragrance. Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life, so make it even more memorable with a scent that mirrors your personality.

✦ Two months

Perfect your make-up! Whether you‘re doing your make-up yourself or using a professional, have an advance practice session (set a side time every week, if you’re doing it yourself) to make sure you’re 100 per cent happy with your look.

quality brands and make-up to hand, they will also know how to enhance your natural beauty, making you look your absolute best for your wedding. He or she can also help to reduce any last-minute panic on the day, simply because – as experts – they’ll know exactly what they’re doing. Make sure you book a couple of practice-runs leading up to the wedding. If budgets won’t stretch to a make-up artist and

you’re attempting to do your own make-up, make sure you follow these tips:

✦ Use a foundation that’s long lasting and that complements your skin tone.

✦ Waterproof mascara is a must! ✦ Enhance your natural look and stick to slightly bolder versions of natural colours. Remember, your fiancé is marrying you, so he must be able to recognise you!

✦ Six weeks

Try to take some time out for relaxation. Book your wedding-week beauty treatments, including a pedicure, manicure, spray tan and waxing..

Hair ✦ One month

Now is the time to improve your diet by cutting out all the things that are bad for you. Workout five days a week and try and aim for 40 minutes cardio including power walking, jogging, or swimming.

It’s important to choose a hair-do that complements both your face and your wedding dress. Before you make any final decisions on a headdress or veil, have an idea of how you want to style your hair. Also bear in mind that your veil and headdress are likely to come off after the ceremony. Whether you hire a professional hair stylist or do your own hair, make sure you browse through wedding magazines to get plenty of ideas. Using a professional stylist is the best way of ensuring you end up with the style you want and a glamorous, expert finish on the big day. You’ll probably need a couple of sessions with him or her in advance – make sure you take your veil and headpiece with you on your final practice-run so you’ll have an idea of the final look.
