PLANNING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

DO... ✦ …ask to see an example of the

videographer’s work before signing on the dotted line.

✦ …make sure that the videographer you meet and sign-up with is the same person who’ll be filming your wedding

✦ …ask whether they are members of the Institute of Videography

Photography continued from page 41

Wedding photographers? Make sure you understand

what everything – including reprints and albums – will cost, and ask, too, about deposits and payments. What happens if there is a cancellation, or if the photographer can’t make it on the actual day? You need to be sure there are suitable contingency plans in place if required.

VIDEOGRAPHY

A video is the perfect way to capture your big day and, thanks to technology, you will be able to watch the occasion over and over again. What’s vital with video recording is to go for quality – after all, this is one event you can’t re-shoot if the cameraman makes any errors!

✦ …make sure they have public liability insurance and own a licence for any copyrighted music that is played in the video

DON’T... ✦ …leave it until the last minute

as good videographers get booked up quickly.

✦ …choose a videographer because they are cheap. Remember you get what you pay for

✦ …book without a contract, as having one should mean you’re both protected in the event of any problems on the big day

✦ …forget to check that your venue allows you to have a videographer.
