PLANNING YOUR REAL-LIFE WEDDING

uplifting readings and hymns including All Things Bright and Beautiful and Give Me Joy in My Heart.

The celebrations:

The reception was held at Hever Castle’s Italian Pavilion and the newly-weds and guests enjoyed a champagne reception. A delicious three-course meal was served and the DJ got the guests up on their feet. The couple had chosen a traditional, four-tier fruit cake, with handmade sugar flowers mirroring the flowers in Penelope’s bouquet: sweet avalanche roses and blue and green hydrangeas.

Personal touches:

The wedding invitations were designed by the couple and printed in French-blue ink. Before the wedding,

the couple sent every guest a small booklet, tied with blue ribbon and full of useful information including directions to the reception and an RSVP card. On the day itself, unusual favours included a tea- towel for each guest printed by the Wedding Tea Towel Company. The tables were decorated with wide bowls filled with mixed English country flowers, including avalanche roses and hydrangeas. Mercury-glass candlesticks provided intimate lighting, and Penelope had made pretty paper bags holding sweets and tied with ribbon. Guests also appreciated the Trivia questions and confetti on their table.

Honeymoon:

The newly weds spent their wedding night at the Nuffield Priory in Redhill before jetting off to Mauritius to spend ten blissful days in a 5* all-inclusive resort.
