Royal Mail swaps


with ‘post haste’ Loadhog, the Sheffield-based transit packaging innovator, predicted in 2011, with some confidence, that increasing volumes of UK commercial mail will be transported in trays on its unique Pally & Lid system in 2012, as more and more customers and postal services hear about its efficiency, economy, easy use, safety and added security. Loadhog’s reusable Pally & Lid system has already proved its worth, says the company, with several Downstream Access (DSA) providers, who have utilised more than 5,000 trays since its launch. Also, the Royal Mail started ‘road-testing’ 1,000 systems, which it calls Tray Dollies, late last year – business totalling more than £1/2m for Loadhog. Royal Mail, which is actively promoting trayed mail rather than bagged mail due to the revised tariffs in ‘Access 70’, has just signed a contract with DSA providers to operate a one-to-one swap out with Tray Dollies. Chilled food label specialist Ravenwood Packaging showcased its very latest and highly creative ‘green’-themed stand at Pro2Pac last year. The company, which is known for its off-the-wall stand designs, did not, according to the company, disappoint this year as it revealed what it believes to be its position of superiority in the linerless labels field. On its ‘in a field of its own’ exhibition stand at Pro2Pac, a sleek and shiny 22 ft long US airstream trailer was used as the meeting-point ‘hub’ of an open field which also featured life-sized and life-like farm animal replicas - including a cow, pig and a sheep! This exhibit also featured the very latest examples of Ravenwood’s linerless
